It’s exciting to see Natalie and Steve look fabulous in Cosmopolitan Bride’s latest edition. It’s their Best Real Weddings 2012 edition, and Dilvin, Emma and the team have put together something special. I think I may have even found a potential wedding dress for me in there.
Congratualations Natalie and Steve. Such a beautiful and deserving couple.

I’ve been wanting to do something different with my photography for awhile. I’ve had a very strong desire to combine my love of photography for another of my great loves: music. Ever since I was old enough to stand in a pub (and even a little earlier, but don’t tell my mother) I’ve been going to gigs. For awhile I lived a stone’s throw from the Corner Hotel in Richmond, and would call in there on my way home from Uni to catch whatever band happened to be on that night. I loved it – the musty pubs, the sweaty crowd, the spilt beer on my shoes and of course, the music.
So now I’m experiencing live music in a whole new way – photographing and reviewing gigs for Faster Louder. My first official assignment was Friday night, shooting Glenn Richards (of Augie March fame) at The Bended Elbow in Geelong.
These first shots are of Mike Noga (The Drones), the very able support for the night.

Shooting gigs requires a whole different skill set. The lighting conditions are tough to say the least. You’ve got to make sure you don’t encroach on anybody’s gig experience. You’ve also got to be sure never to put off the band. No flash. Ever.

I fell in love with Glenn Richards a long time ago. Plus he’s from Shepparton too. Say no more.

You can see more of my photographs, and read my review (keep in mind that I’m a little rusty on the whole official journo writing in full sentences that make sense thing) over HERE on Faster Louder.

The pages are glossy as I run my hand over them. I look at the faces – there’s Cassandra, Holly and Aaron, Steve and Natalie, Courtney. All smiling back at me.

New business name – exciting to see in print.
